M.L.K. Sunday Supper: On Sunday, January 18, 2015 the Sorors of Lambda Phi Omega Chapter saluted and served the veterans of the Veterans Domiciliary with a meal that consisted of turkey, green beans, dressing, sweet potatoes, rolls and punch. Soror Renee Taylor, MLK Day Chairman, put together an extensive program that consisted of a voters education, registration, mobilization and participation forum that was led by AKA Connection Chairman, Soror Mallori King. She registered approximately 7 veterans. We also focused on our Call to Action with Target 3 of our International Program: Family Strengthening by providing Seasonal Wraps to the vets. The chapter collected over $300 in Gift Cards, 80 pairs of socks, 30 pairs of gloves and 20 hats to both male and female veterans of the domiciliary and had a financial literacy workshop with Charter One Bank. The program was closed out with a beautiful rendition of "Lift Every Voice and Sing" by the Mt. Zion Congregational Church UCC Voices Ensemble.
AKA and Omega Collaboration On January 19, 2015 Lambda Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Zeta Kappa Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi and their friends and family joined together in the name of brotherhood and sisterhood to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. by seeing the movie "Selma". We cried and celebrated during the movie and a wonderful time was had by all in attendance. This event is brought to you by Lambda Phi Omega Connection Chairman-Mallori King and Zeta Kappa Kappa member Steven Robertson. #AKA1908 #PINKCARPET #MARCHON@SelmaFilm
